Privacy

Plain version: the only personal information this site asks for is an email address — if you subscribe to the weekly brief or create an account. We use it to send the brief and run your account. We don't sell it or share it for marketing.

What we collect

An email address, if you give us one. Anything you choose to type into your profile — name, company, role, specialty — all optional, and nothing on the site refuses to work without them. Standard web-server logs (IP address, pages requested, timestamps) that every website generates, used for keeping the site running and diagnosing problems.

What we don't do

We don't sell or rent your email. We don't buy contact lists. Calculator inputs stay in your browser — the calculators run entirely client-side and send nothing anywhere. AI tools (RFI drafting, weld parsing) send the text you type to our server to produce the draft; we don't use it for anything else.

Business listings in the directory

The street address, phone number and contact-page link on a directory listing come from that company’s own public website — business contact details, never a person’s — and each listing says when we read them. No scraped e-mail addresses are published. A company can ask us to change or remove its listing at any time from the box on its page.

Being on the map

Fabricators and shops appear in the directory and on the map whether or not anyone has an account — that is a business listing, built from public information about the company. A person is different. You only appear on the map as an individual if you tick the box on your account, and it is off until you do. We store your city and state only — never a street address — and the pin shows your name, role and specialty. Untick it and you come off; nothing is kept somewhere else afterwards.

Unsubscribing and deleting

Every brief has a one-click unsubscribe that works — or unsubscribe here, no account needed. To delete an account or any stored email, email us and it's done.

This page is written in plain language on purpose. If anything is unclear, ask.

The weekly steel brief

One email. One new tool or template. Every week.

A copy-ready RFI or worksheet, a calculator or SDS2 template, and directory updates. No filler, unsubscribe anytime.
